A private sector job, with fat pay package, is no longer the goal of the youth of our country. Focus, has thus shifted once more to Government sector jobs, notable among them is Engineering Services.
Hardly 2% to 3% of all the applicants get to clear the NET/SET examination. Sadly enough, the structure of the course and instructional pattern in our Universities no way prepare the students to crack NET/SET.
West Bengal Central School Service Commission over the past few years is conducting exams for recruitment of Teachers in recognized Govt. aided schools and an array of institutes have cropped up to provide coaching. But the preparatory courses offered by them, as the market research surveys suggest are hardly scientific and well-structured.
Again, for those who could not crack the IIT-JEE after 10+2 for doing Bachelor degree in Engineering in IITs, JAM (Joint Admission Test) has opened an alternative avenue after 10+2+3 to pursue M.Sc. in the coveted IITs of their dream. It hardly needs mentioning the edge of a M.Sc. from an IIT over the rest.
The Edge aims to satisfy this niche. That is why, it has decided to provide a scientific, comprehensive and well-structured preparatory programmes for Engineering Services, NET/SET, SSC (School Service Commission), IIT-JAM, JEST & CEEB (Combined Entrance Examination for Biotechnology).
