I.History Bani Chakra a Music & Dance Training College was founded in the year 1957, November 29, jointly by Srimati Renu Das, M. A. and Sri Rabindra Kumar Das in the name of their only issue Bani. Bani's name was Probal Kumar Das but he was better known by his aforesaid nick name. He was born in the year 1343, 3rd. Falgoon B. S. but as ill luck would have it he was suddenly snatched away by the Almighty in the year 1361, 9th Falgoon B. S. The consequent breave-ment of the parents who have just lost their beloved son could be easily imagined. Bani was born in the house of Music lovers. Both his father's and mother's maternal side—renowned Rup Babu & Paghu Babu's house— was famous for the petronage of music Most of the musicians of India and even of foreign lands who used to come to Dacca which was the famous citadel of music and music culture and heritage of East Bengal and now the Capital of Bangladesh, used either to stay or visit the "Ruplal House". His father used to sing classical music but owing to the pressure of his own big business he was latter forced to give it up. His mother is a musician of high standard and she was an artist playing Sitar in the Dacca Station of the then All India Radio. In such an enviornment Bani took his birth and naturally he also became a great lover of music in no time. To perpetuate the memory of their son his parents opened a smal School of Music. They started with only four students. They have spent their money, time & energy and worked hard and very hard to make this institution a big and successful one. B.1. Based on heritage we try to dedicate for healthy fusion between our culture and global valued Art . 2. The take over the running institution of Banichakra Music & Dance Training College with all its assets and goodwill. 3. To establish, run, maintain and manage Schools and Colleges of music vocal and instrumental as well as of Dance, Drama, Fine Arts etc. in all classes and standards. 4. To establish or branches in any parts of India and abroad. 5. To promote and encourage for advancement of students in the field of music such as Vocal, Instrumental, Dance, Drama and Fine Arts etc. 6. To carry on research on musical subjects and to establish a library consisting of books, magazines, periodicals, journals, manuscripts, literature etc. and of other allied arts and also to publish books, magazines, journals, literature, periodicals, souvenir, and other allied arts. 7. To arrange and hold from time to time musical entertainments , symposiums , music competitions , soirees, dance drama and music conferences etc. in any parts of India and abroad. 8. To hold and organize discussions and lectures on various aspects of music and other allied art. 9. To accept and receive grants-in-aid, donations, subscriptions, endowments, contributions, gifts, bequests, general help or other relief’s from the members, individuals, private or public bodies, societies and institutions, Government of India, State Government etc. 10. To grant prizes, medals, gifts, grants-in-aid and scholarships etc. to musical scholars, students, persons devoted to music or musical institutions on such terms and conditions as deemed fit and proper and also to confer titles in deserving cases. II.Banichakra is the biggest Cultural institution in Asia. The Institution holds 7000 students and 285 reputed Trainers and 8 Branches arround Kolkata City.
